Deep Learning Research Engineer – Generative AI & Video F/M
Context
Veesion develops Deep Learning algorithms applied to video surveillance to detect suspicious gestures related to shoplifting in real time. We process long, noisy, and unsegmented videos captured by in-store cameras under real-world conditions.
The Role
We’re looking for a Deep Learning Engineer to join our R&D team. Your mission: explore, design, and test innovative approaches in computer vision, with an increasing focus on video. Prior video experience isn’t required – we’re looking for a strong researcher who codes effectively.
You’ll work autonomously on high-impact scientific projects with significant technical freedom. Generative AI should be second nature in your workflow – for rapid prototyping, code review, documentation, and more.
Responsibilities
Design and test novel approaches to understand complex human gestures in video
Propose and evaluate Deep Learning architectures adapted to our real-world constraints (noise, duration, label scarcity...)
Explore, benchmark, iterate
Code efficiently: know where to spend time and where to move fast.
Collaborate with other researchers to identify and develop the most promising scientific directions
Profile
2 years of experience in Deep Learning (preferably in computer vision)
Strong command of Python and PyTorch
Solid Deep Learning background (transformers, CNNs, attention, etc.)
Ability to formulate hypotheses, structure research, and explore efficiently
Comfortable with modern development tools (notebooks, version control, testing, GPU debugging...)
Strong habit or interest in using generative AI as a coding copilot
Bonus
Interest in video or sequential model
Experience with time series or sequential data
Familiarity with video benchmarks (Kinetics, Something-Something, etc.)
